DeepSeekHarness Session Delete: Adding Delete Functionality to Sidebar Sessions

DeepSeek Harness currently supports archiving, renaming, and forking sessions, but it lacks the ability to delete ended sessions from the sidebar. As sessions accumulate, the sidebar becomes cluttered. A way to clean up the sidebar is needed.

What Is This

This is a plugin maintained by Ansellwan that adds the missing official “Delete Session” capability to sidebar sessions in DeepSeek Harness. It addresses incomplete sidebar session management and supports graying out the option while a session is active, a second confirmation, and complete deletion.

Core Features

  • Adds a “Delete Session” option to the ⋯ menu of sidebar sessions.
  • When a session is in a replying state, the option is automatically grayed out and cannot be used.
  • A secondary confirmation dialog is shown before deletion.
  • After confirmation, the session data is completely deleted, including the sidebar registration record and disk files.
  • Archived sessions can be deleted.

Installation and Activation

The installation command is as follows:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-session-clean

After installation, DeepSeek Harness must be restarted (this software form does not support hot reload).

Typical Usage

  • Uninstall: dsh plugin --profile desktop remove dsh-session-clean
  • Upgrade: dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-session-clean@<version>
  • Operation: Click the ⋯ menu of a sidebar session, select the red-highlighted “Delete Session” option, and confirm to remove it.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Suitable for developers who need to clean up the sidebar and manage historical sessions.
  • Irreversible: Deleted sessions cannot be restored; there is no recycle bin.
  • Runtime restriction: A session that is currently replying cannot be deleted; the system will block the operation and show a prompt.
  • Data scope: The plugin only deletes data of the current session (including the sidebar registration and disk files). It does not affect the attachment library (stored by hash and possibly shared) or data used by other plugins.
  • Network and permissions: It only enables local HTTP routing, does not access external networks, and all operations are completed within the local process.

By following the steps above, you can thoroughly clean up sidebar sessions in DeepSeek Harness. For more details, refer to the official catalog or GitHub repository.
