Introduction¶
When DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is running long tasks, users often switch to other windows, making it difficult to follow the current progress in real time or causing them to miss tool calls awaiting approval. The dsh-session-hud plugin is designed to solve this problem: it pushes the current work content and pending approval prompts of a running session in real time to a standalone WinUI 3 floating window.
This plugin is maintained by xieani090612 and is open-sourced under the MIT license.

Installation¶
- Ensure that your current DSH version includes the plugin system.
- Run the installation command (replace
<profile>with your profile name):
dsh plugin --profile <profile> add file:C:\path\to\dsh-session-hud-1.1.0.tgz
You can also use the link: method to point to a local directory:
dsh plugin --profile <profile> add link:C:\path\to\dsh-session-hud
After installation, restart DSH to load the new module.
Usage¶
- Command Invocation: Enter
/hudin DSH to bring up the floating window. - Sidebar Entry: After the plugin is loaded, a corresponding open button is provided in the DSH sidebar.
- Window Operations: The window supports free dragging and resizing. You can drag it to a secondary screen or shrink it to a single-line display.
Technical Details and Limitations¶
- Platform Dependency: Supports Windows 10 and later only.
- Zero Runtime Dependency: The
dist/directory is a self-contained release, so users do not need to install the .NET runtime or Windows App Runtime. - Communication Mechanism: The plugin host and the floating window exchange state snapshots through temporary files with atomic renaming, avoiding concurrent read issues.
- Icon Licensing: The plugin code follows the MIT license, but the copyright of the default icon (derived from generated character art) is not covered by MIT. If you need to redistribute it, you must separately confirm icon rights or replace
assets/icon-source.webpyourself and regenerateapp/app.ico.
