dsh-statusline-plus: Enhanced Status Line for DeepSeek Harness

Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a platform based on a plugin architecture. During development or use of the Web interface, developers often need real-time visibility into quota status across multiple model providers, peak hours, and the current state of the workspace. The native status bar often falls short of supporting multi-model scenarios and fine-grained management. dsh-statusline-plus aims to provide DSH Web with a responsive enhanced status bar to address these visibility gaps.

Plugin Purpose

This is an MIT-licensed plugin maintained by overact, focused on enhancing the status bar for DeepSeek Harness Web (dsh web). It provides real-time display of balances and quotas for multiple models, and integrates DeepSeek peak-hour monitoring, Git status, context management, cost estimation, and agent activity monitoring.

Core Features

  • Multi-Model Quota Monitoring: Supports balance and quota display for DeepSeek, Kimi Code, Z.ai (Zhipu), Antigravity, Codex, OpenCode Go, and OpenRouter. Click a card to view details and refresh.
  • DeepSeek Peak Hours: Provides status indicators, countdowns, daily timelines, and sidebar badges to help users identify and avoid peak periods.
  • Workspace and Session Metrics: Displays Git branch and changes, context usage, streaming output TPS (Tokens Per Second), API reference cost, and activity status of subagents and tools in the bottom status bar.
  • Layout Customization: Supports toggling components, adjusting order, using layout presets, and provides interactive previews.

Installation and Enablement

This plugin requires DSH version >=0.2.0-rc.2 and <0.3.0. To install the released version:

dsh plugin --profile web add https://github.com/overact/dsh-statusline-plus/releases/download/v0.1.1/dsh-statusline-plus-0.1.1.tgz

For local development and debugging, you can install from a local path:

dsh plugin --profile web add file:/path/to/dsh-statusline-plus

Configuration and Usage

After installation, go to DSH Web → Settings → Statusline. Settings are stored under the native configuration key statusline-plus.

  • Component Switches and Order: Use toggles such as enabled, showGit, showContext, and showCost to control component visibility, and use componentOrder to adjust the order of components in the bottom status bar.
  • Credential Management: Use credential references rather than plaintext keys in configuration. For example, use DEEPSEEK_API_KEY for DeepSeek, KIMI_API_KEY for Kimi, ZAI_API_KEY for Z.ai, and so on. Keys are stored only on the host side and are not directly retained by the plugin.
  • Caching and Timeout: Use cacheTtlMs to set the cache duration for quota results (default: 60 seconds), and use fetchTimeoutMs to set the request timeout (default: 10 seconds).

Notes

  • Cost Estimation: The displayed cost is an estimate based on actual usage and vendors’ public API pricing. It does not include sub-sessions, inherited branch history, or additional fees, and does not represent the actual billing amount.
  • Request Mechanism: Quota requests use a plugin-dedicated connection pool, with an address attempt window of 5 seconds. Network failures are retried, but successful queries update the display immediately without waiting for the connection window to complete.
  • Version Compatibility: The plugin depends on DSH >=0.2.0-rc.2. Note that in v0.1.1, some features (such as the narrow-screen adaptation toggle) are not included in the release version (see the release notes).

Conclusion

dsh-statusline-plus significantly improves the efficiency of managing multi-model workflows in DeepSeek Harness by providing structured status information in the header and footer. If you want to learn more or contribute code, visit its GitHub repository.
