Introduction¶

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) follows the “everything is a plugin” philosophy, and the plugin ecosystem provides rich extensibility for the system. During daily use of the Web UI, retrieving specific session information (such as ID or path) or monitoring detailed metrics may require multiple clicks or checking different areas. The @comecaramelos/dsh-hover-information plugin aims to improve the interaction details of the Web UI and solve the problems of scattered information access and cumbersome operations. It adds practical quick actions and information displays to hover cards, the sidebar toolbar, and the background job list.

Hover Card Enhancements¶

This plugin primarily enhances the displayed content and operational convenience of session hover cards:

• Quick Copy: Adds ⧉ copy ID and ⧉ copy path icons in the header row of the hover card, supplementing the original full-card copy button. This allows you to copy the session ID or workspace path individually.
• Configurable Metrics Block: Adds a configurable metrics display area in the card. This area supports toggling the display of the following metrics as needed:
  • Turns and steps
  • Tokens sent/received
  • Cached tokens
  • Compactions and purges
  • Context window size
  • Subagents
  • Model
  • Tool calls
  • Active time and created date

Sidebar Toolbar¶

In the document preview header toolbar in the sidebar, the plugin adds two additional copy buttons to quickly copy the content or path of the currently opened file.

Background Job Management¶

In the background job list in the session header, it adds a ✕ button to running task rows for terminating the job (a cancel operation, not a forced termination).

Model Selector¶

In the model selector, it adds Provider display. The selector not only displays the model name but also shows the hierarchical information of Provider > Model via Tooltip and value.

Installation and Enabling¶

The installation process is performed using the DSH CLI tool. Since browser-side plugins do not support hot updates, the service must be restarted after installation.

Manual Installation (Alternative)¶

If you need to install manually, you must link the plugin to the corresponding directory and configure the dependency in package.json:

Restart Requirement: After installation is complete, you must restart the web adapter. Browser-side plugins do not support hot updates, and the DSH live web gateway will not be restarted automatically by the tool, so a manual restart is required.

Typical Usage¶

1. Configure Metrics Display: Go to the “Plugins” card on the settings page, and enable or disable the various metric items mentioned above as needed.
2. Copy Session Information: In the session list, hover over a session card and click the ⧉ copy ID or ⧉ copy path icon on the right side of the header row.
3. Terminate Background Tasks: Check the background job list in the session header, find the running task row, and click the ✕ button at the beginning of the row to cancel it.
4. View Model Source: In the model selector, click a model dropdown item and view the Tooltip or selected item to confirm its Provider information.

Notes¶

• Hot Update Limitation: The browser-side Bundle provided by this plugin does not support hot updates. After modifying code or configuration, you must restart the service.
• Service Restart: The live dsh web gateway will not be restarted automatically by the installation tool. Be sure to manually restart the service after installation to ensure the plugin takes effect.
