When describing layout or UI details in the native chat of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), the process usually relies on text or external screenshots, which makes information delivery less efficient. The dsh-sketch-reference plugin integrates Excalidraw, bringing an editable sketch board directly into the DSH workspace. It allows the Agent to read sketches on demand, locate annotated areas, and propose modifications, creating a visual collaboration loop from conception to implementation.
Core Features¶
It integrates the Excalidraw editor to provide continuously editable sketches and reference images. Drawing, saving, and exporting work independently, and the DSH Agent can continue developing web pages, UIs, and PPTs based on this.
The Agent can read the sketch on demand, understand the structure and content of the current sketch, locate specific annotated areas, and propose changes based on this information. Modifications to the sketch board are restricted by a shape whitelist. After the Agent proposes changes, a same-view preview is displayed, and the changes are applied only after user confirmation.
Installation and Activation¶
The plugin is installed through the official DSH plugin manager, so there is no need to install Excalidraw separately in advance. Before installation, ensure that the DSH Web environment version is 0.2.1-alpha.1 or 0.2.1-alpha.2.
After installation, run the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add /绝对路径/dsh-sketch-reference-0.6.5.tgz
Run dsh web to start the service and use it.
Typical Usage¶
Create a Session and Draw
1. Select a workspace and create a session.
2. Click the “Reference Board” button next to the input box.
3. Draw a sketch on the board and add a usage note.
4. Click “Saved” to return to the chat, or click “Send as Reference” to add the sketch to the input box as an image.
Direct Conversation and Modification
1. Enter instructions directly in the native chat. For example: “Implement a web page based on the current sketch”.
2. Select an element on the board and use the annotation menu features “Follow-up / Correct / Modify Here” to draft the next message.
3. After the Agent annotates an area, you can initiate a modification request from the menu.
4. When the Agent proposes a sketch board modification, the system displays a preview. The modification is applied to the sketch only after user confirmation.
Notes¶
Model and Permissions
The image reading feature requires the model to support visual input. Model and authentication settings follow the DSH configuration. The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Please inspect the source code and license before installation.
Modification Restrictions
Sketch board modifications are restricted by a shape whitelist. It will not arbitrarily modify locked, bound, or grouped elements, or styles.
Data Storage
Sketches and images are stored in the local DSH. When read by the model, this data is sent to the configured service. Historical attachments do not yet have an automatic cleanup mechanism. It is recommended to export sketch backups before upgrading or uninstalling.
Feature Boundaries
The plugin does not include built-in web page or PPT generators, nor does it support automatic two-way binding between sketches and code.
