Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture, allowing developers to extend functionality based on their needs. In agent development, managing the current session’s files directly within the conversation flow is a common pain point. dsh-file-share focuses on solving this issue by adding a “Files” tab to the conversation interface, providing a visual directory tree and file operation entry, and seamlessly integrating file browsing, previewing, and management into the conversation context.
What Is This¶
This is a DSH plugin maintained by weibaohui. It integrates file browsing, previewing, and management into the current session workspace context, without requiring a fixed external directory configuration.
Core Features¶
- Session-workspace-bound file tree: The file tree is automatically bound to the workspace directory of the current conversation.
- Tree browsing: Supports lazy loading of the directory tree.
- File preview: Supports text, code, and image previews; very large files or binary types are redirected to download.
- Upload/download: Supports one-click upload of local files to the current directory, as well as downloading any file.
- Bulk package download: Supports bulk packaging of folders or multiple selected files into a zip file while preserving the directory structure.
- Directory management: Supports creating folders, renaming, deleting, refreshing, and name search filtering.
- @ into the input box: Click the “@” button to inject the file’s absolute path into the input box for agent processing.
- Path boundary safety: All operations are locked within the session workspace, and
../, absolute paths, and symbolic link escapes are rejected.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the following command to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add @weibaohui/dsh-file-share -w
After installation, restart dsh web to apply changes.
Usage Examples¶
- Open the Web UI and enter any active conversation that has been opened in the current instance.
- Find the Files tab at the top of the conversation area (usually next to “Craft”) and click it to view the directory tree of the conversation workspace.
- Click a file name to preview its content; hover over a file row to download, @, or rename/delete it; use the toolbar to upload, create a folder, or filter by search.
- Upload, create, and similar operations act on the current directory — click a directory name to expand it and switch the target directory.
- To have the agent process a file: click “@” to inject the absolute path into the input box, press Enter, and the agent reads the file directly.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Applicable scenarios: Agent development scenarios that frequently require reading and writing files in the current session workspace during conversation.
- Notes: File management is based on the current session workspace and must be an active conversation that has been opened in this instance; cross-instance or previously unopened conversations cannot access it. All operations are strictly limited to the session workspace, and
../, absolute paths, and symbolic link escapes are rejected.
Conclusion¶
This plugin provides DSH users with a convenient way to operate files directly within the conversation context, making it suitable for agent scenarios that require file interaction. Project address: GitHub.
