Introduction¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” In multi-device environments, manually maintaining a unified plugin-list configuration (including dependency versions and user patch settings) is inefficient and error-prone. The dsh-plugin-list-sync plugin synchronizes the plugin-list configuration of DSH clients through S3-compatible object storage (AWS S3, MinIO, Cloudflare R2, etc.). It supports operations such as previewing diffs, uploading, downloading, and rolling back, providing a unified configuration management solution for multi-device development and usage.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin is maintained by developer smellgamed3 and is categorized as a network tool. It stores DSH configuration files (package.json and cordis.patch.yml) in S3-compatible storage to ensure consistency and security across multiple devices.
Core Features¶
- Merged synchronization: A merge strategy is used by default. During upload, existing remote plugins are preserved; during download, existing local plugins are preserved. Neither side overwrites the other.
- Snapshot mechanism: A snapshot is automatically created before every write operation, supporting one-click rollback to any historical snapshot.
- Safety protection: Official
@deepseek-ai/*components are excluded from synchronization by default to prevent peer dependency breakage; LLM provider configurations are excluded by default. - Force overwrite: Explicit, one-time force-overwrite options are provided, requiring double confirmation and not being persisted.
- Semi-automatic synchronization: Debounced upload and remote checking are supported, but plugins are not automatically installed or removed; manual confirmation is required.
Installation and Configuration¶
Install the plugin with the following command:
dsh plugin add smellgamed3/dsh-plugin-list-sync
After installation, configure the S3 endpoint, region, bucket, and credentials in DSH Web UI under “Settings -> Plugin Sync.”
- S3 endpoint: For example,
https://s3.amazonaws.comorhttp://127.0.0.1:9000(MinIO/RustFS). - Region: A real AWS region;
autocan be used with MinIO/RustFS. - Credentials: Credentials are not written into configuration files or manifests and are stored locally only. They can be saved through the AccessKey/SecretKey fields in the Web UI, or via the environment variables
DSH_PLUGIN_SYNC_S3_KEY/DSH_PLUGIN_SYNC_S3_SECRET.
Usage¶
Web UI Operations¶
On the DSH Web UI page under “Settings -> Plugin Sync,” you can perform the following operations:
* Preview diff: Run a dry-run check of differences in the remote manifest.
* Upload current list: Merge and upload the local configuration.
* Download and apply: Merge and download the configuration from the remote source.
* Rollback: Restore the latest snapshot.
Command-line Operations¶
In the DSH chat interface, you can use the following commands:
/plugin-sync status
/plugin-sync upload
/plugin-sync diff
/plugin-sync pull
/plugin-sync rollback [snapshot-id]
Force Overwrite (Dangerous Operation)¶
Force overwrite is an explicit, single-use, non-persistent option. At the bottom of the settings page, there are two independent switches:
* Force overwrite remote: Upload replaces the remote manifest and removes plugins that exist only on the remote side.
* Force overwrite local: Apply mirrors the remote manifest and removes plugins that exist only on the local side.
This operation requires double confirmation, takes effect only for the current operation, and is reset automatically afterward. Official components (@deepseek-ai/*) and LLM configurations are still preserved even when force overwrite is enabled.
Notes¶
- Official component protection: Official
@deepseek-ai/*components are never synchronized in order to avoid dependency conflicts. - Configuration isolation: LLM provider configurations are excluded from synchronization by default to prevent leakage of sensitive information.
- Safety model: A snapshot is created before every write operation, and the remote manifest is strictly validated for format before being applied.
Summary¶
This plugin provides a standard configuration management solution for multi-environment DSH development, enabling centralized storage and secure synchronization through S3-compatible storage.
