In DeepSeek Harness, the signals for a finished session or an approval request only appear as a small dot in the sidebar. Once you switch to another tab or application, they become invisible. dsh-notice-center moves these two signals to the tab icon and system notifications.
This plugin is maintained by SCP-QQ. It turns the whale icon in the tab into a status light and proactively reminds you when you are not watching.
Core Features¶
Tab Whale Icon Status Light¶
The plugin tracks the state of the main session and displays a color on the whale icon in the browser tab:
* Green: the session finished while you were not watching it.
* Amber: a session has something waiting for you to handle (such as a question, approval, or plan review).
* Black: everything is normal, and the original official icon is used.
When green and amber exist at the same time, amber takes priority. All three colors can be configured in the settings.
Browser System Notifications¶
When the session state changes, the plugin triggers browser system notifications:
* Completion notification: the title is the session name, and the body shows “session completed” and the total time for this round.
* Pending notification: the title is the session name, and the body shows the specific interaction type (such as “pending approval”, “please select”, etc.).
Clicking the notification card directly focuses the window and opens the corresponding session.
By default, notifications only appear when you are not watching (the tab is not visible or the window has no focus). If you also need reminders in the foreground, enable “Foreground Reminder” in the settings.
Sound Effects and Aggregation¶
- Sound effects: 47 selectable sound effects are provided (2 plugin built-in synthesized tones + 45 opencode sounds).
- Notification aggregation: events within 300ms are combined into one notification, and the title shows
+N. - Persistent notifications: after turning off the “Auto-hide” toggle, notifications remain on the screen until manually dismissed.
Installation¶
Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-notice-center
After installation, you need to restart DeepSeek Harness for the changes to take effect.
Configuration and Usage¶
Authorize System Notifications¶
On first use, the plugin will use your first click or keypress to automatically request notification authorization from the browser. Click “Allow” in the browser permission prompt.
Adjust Settings¶
Go to the DeepSeek Harness settings page and find the “Notification Center” sidebar navigation item. You can:
1. Adjust the status light colors (completed, pending, default color).
2. Select notification sounds (completion sound, pending sound).
3. Adjust the volume.
4. Toggle “Foreground Reminder” and “Auto-hide”.
Known Limitations¶
- No notifications after closing the browser tab: Web Push requires server-side support and cannot be implemented in local plugin scenarios.
- Unavailable in non-secure contexts: The Notification API requires the page to be in a secure context, such as
http://127.0.0.1:3080orlocalhost. It cannot be used over a LAN IP address. - State is lost after refreshing the page: The green status is in-memory only and resets to the default black after a page refresh.
- System-level Do Not Disturb modes: system-level DND features such as Windows Focus Assist may suppress notifications, and the plugin cannot detect them.
- Auto-hide duration is not configurable: The Web Notifications specification does not provide a duration parameter; on desktop, it is determined by the system.
- Notification card appearance cannot be customized: The card is rendered by the browser and cannot be customized with CSS.
Ecosystem Background¶
The DeepSeek Harness philosophy is “everything is a plugin”. The community catalog has no official affiliation with DeepSeek or High-Flyer. As a community plugin, you should inspect the source code and license before use.
