DeepSeek Harness (DSH) sends the full context at each step when processing agentic tasks, resulting in high token consumption due to cacheMiss. The dsh-agent-dispatch plugin addresses agent allocation, workflow fan-out, and division-of-labor policy injection through a visible dispatch panel. It is not merely a simulation; it actually writes the policy into systemPrompt and it takes effect immediately after saving.

Installation and Activation¶

It is recommended to use the official automatic installation script.

Automatic Installation¶

Run the following command in the plugin root directory. The script automatically backs up and modifies the DSH profile configuration file:

node scripts/install-into-profile.mjs --apply

After installation, you must perform the following two steps for it to take effect:

1. Link dependencies: Run pnpm install in the corresponding DSH profile directory (for example, <DSH_HOME>/profiles/<profile>) to convert link: dependencies into node_modules links.
2. Restart DSH: Restart DeepSeek Harness to load the new package.

Manual Installation¶

If manual configuration is required, edit the package.json file in the DSH profile directory and add the following to dependencies:

"dsh-agent-dispatch": "link:D:/dsh-agent-dispatch"

and add the package name to the dsh.profile.bundles array:

"dsh-agent-dispatch"

Then, as before, run pnpm install and restart DSH.

Configuration and Usage¶

After installation, open the Agent Dispatch panel in DSH settings. The panel contains eight sections, from top to bottom:

1. Master switch and mode selection: Controls whether dispatch is enabled and selects Off / Ask / Auto mode.
2. Assistant channels: Selects dispatch channels such as workflow fan-out and subagent. Unselected channels are added to the rejection list.
3. Assistant list: Merges assistants from host registration, lane detection, and manual configuration, and marks the default primary assistant.
4. Dispatch scale: Sets the maximum number of concurrent assistants, dispatch threshold, etc.
5. Pre-check estimation: Controls whether to perform estimation before each step to decide whether to dispatch tasks.
6. Stall failover: Sets the stall-step threshold and reallocation strategy.
7. Additional notes: Written directly into the injected policy text.
8. View injected text: Expands to view the policy actually sent to the agent.

This plugin is suitable for scenarios that require fine-grained control of agent collaboration flows and aim to reduce the cost of repeated context transmission. It assigns mechanical, self-contained tasks (such as batch retrieval, translation, and formatting) to independent assistants, while keeping judgment-oriented, consequence-sensitive tasks (such as architecture design and security review) on the main agent.
