DSH Workspace Hierarchy and Time View Plugin

Introduction

The native sidebar of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) only supports a single-level workspace list. When the number of workspaces grows or workspaces need to be categorized by project structure (such as web/前端, backend/api), the native view can easily become cluttered. dsh-workspace-plus is a DSH Web plugin that introduces a hierarchical tree view, time-bucket sorting, and global session pinning to the sidebar. It is a fork of dsh-better-workspace and primarily addresses the need for multi-level workspace management and cross-project aggregated viewing of sessions.

Core Features

Hierarchy Tree and Virtual Groups

The plugin builds a virtual group tree by parsing the / character in workspace names. For example, a workspace named github/dsh-plan-plus is automatically grouped under the github virtual group. This grouping is a purely logical projection and does not depend on the filesystem directory structure. Multi-level hierarchies are supported, and single-level workspaces (such as regular workspaces under the root directory) display as usual.

Adding Workspaces and Zone Interaction

When adding a workspace, the plugin provides an interactive dialog that allows you to directly select a zone or group instead of only entering text. The dialog supports instant preview of the final title and automatically adjusts the dropdown direction when space is insufficient. When creating a new item, you can directly create an empty zone or empty group.

Group Management

All group operations are performed through the right-click menu. Right-clicking a group row allows you to: add a sub-group (automatically prefixed with the parent path), add a sub-workspace (automatically pre-filled with the group path), rename a group, and delete an empty group. Group state is separated from workspace data and is naturally derived from names.

Independent Zones

In addition to hierarchical groups, the plugin supports independent zones. Right-clicking a workspace or session allows you to select “Zone” and move it to an independent zone or “Unzoned (Projects)”. For a session, you can select “Follow Its Workspace” to remove the independent zone. Zones have a single-level structure and support drag-and-drop placement and collapsing.

View Switching and Time Buckets

The sidebar provides multiple view modes:
* Hierarchy Tree: The default view, displaying virtual groups.
* Workspaces: Shows independent groups and project areas in a flat view.
* Single List: Shows sessions across workspaces in a flat list.
* Time Buckets: Aggregates all sessions and displays them in buckets by “Today / Yesterday / Last 7 Days / Last 30 Days / Earlier”.
View switching supports sorting (manual / recently updated) and filtering (archived / all).

Session Pinning and Drag-and-Drop

Any session can be pinned by right-clicking. Pinned items are fixed at the top of the list and display a badge indicating their workspace. Pinned sessions are hidden from their original workspace and return after unpinning. Drag-and-drop reordering is supported: workspaces can be dragged into groups, and sessions can be reordered within a workspace.

Appearance Customization

Right-click any level (workspace, group, or session) to customize its appearance, including color (preset palette + color picker), glow intensity, font weight, shadow, and icon. Settings take effect immediately and are persisted locally in the browser.

Installation and Activation

Before installing, make sure DSH is already installed. The plugin supports both desktop and Web environments. The installation commands are as follows:

# DSH 桌面端
dsh plugin --profile desktop add https://github.com/lsdt45/dsh-workspace-plus.git

# DSH Web
dsh plugin --profile web add https://github.com/lsdt45/dsh-workspace-plus.git

After installation, restart DSH for the plugin to take effect.

Typical Usage

  1. Organize workspaces: When creating a workspace, enter web or backend in “Assigned Group” to automatically group it under a virtual group.
  2. Manage zones: Right-click a workspace and select “Zone” to move it into an independent “Development” zone, making it easier to distinguish from the “Learning” zone.
  3. Time view: Click the sidebar view button to switch to “By Time” and review session activity across all projects in the past 7 days.
  4. Appearance customization: Right-click the “Frontend” group, select “Customize Appearance”, and set a brand color for quick recognition.

Notes

  • Data storage: Plugin preferences and data are stored locally in the browser; switching browsers may cause configuration loss.
  • Deletion mechanism: The DSH host only provides an archive interface. This plugin implements permanent deletion via POST /dsh-workspace-plus/delete-session, so the host must support this endpoint.
  • Title parsing: The plugin follows the principle of not splitting URL/slash titles into hierarchy levels. Unless the session is new and the name is stable, it will not forcibly split hierarchy levels based on a / in the title. Slashes inside quotation marks are treated as ordinary characters.
  • Licensing: The documentation does not specify a particular license; please review the source code before use.

Ecosystem Context

The DSH plugin ecosystem is distributed through Git repositories. This plugin can be viewed in the SkillHub plugin directory, and the source code is hosted on GitHub.
