dsh-personal-model-picker: DSH Compact Two-Column Model Picker

The default model-selection entry point in DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a hierarchical drill-down approach, which can be cumbersome when frequently switching between providers and models. The dsh-personal-model-picker plugin replaces the official hierarchical menu with a two-column side-by-side view, using a fixed height and a more intuitive layout to shorten the switching path.

Plugin Introduction¶

This is an unofficial plugin for DeepSeek Harness, adapted from the official package @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-model-selection, and released under the MIT License. The plugin overrides the official entry point via cordis.patch.yml and provides a two-column model-selection experience.

Core Features¶

1. Two-column side-by-side layout: The left column lists providers, and the right column lists the models available for the corresponding provider. Hovering over the left column updates the content on the right, and each column scrolls independently.
2. Reasoning level visualization: The trigger next to the input box displays not only the currently selected model name but also the current reasoning level.
3. Fixed-height panel: The panel height is fixed at 348px (28px column header + 320px model column). The fixed height prevents positioning jitter caused by height changes when switching providers.
4. Opaque background: Uses opaque background colors (#fff for the light theme and #232324 for the dark theme) to prevent the chat content behind the panel from showing through.
5. Command compatibility: The /model command remains available.
6. Exclusive replacement: After installation, the official model-selection entry point is disabled and replaced by this plugin.

Installation and Activation¶

1. Open the Plugins page for the current DSH profile.
2. Enter the installation specification:

To lock a specific version, append a ref:

    github:JuYueYe/dsh-personal-model-picker#<commit>

3. After installation completes, refresh the page (Ctrl+R). If nothing changes next to the input box, restart the host. Confirm that the plugin is included in dsh.profile.bundles.

Usage¶

• Click the trigger next to the input box to open the model selector.
• Move the mouse to the provider column on the left; the model column on the right automatically updates to the model list for that provider.
• Click the target model in the model list on the right; the trigger updates to display both the model name and the reasoning level.

Notes¶

• Dependencies: Requires DSH core 0.2.0-rc.2 or 0.1.5-rc.2.
• Icon exports: Icon export names change across core versions (IconXxx14 / IconXxx16 in the 0.1.5 era; unified to IconXxxRegular starting with 0.2.0-rc.2). If icons resolve to undefined, the plugin may not render correctly. When switching core versions, verify the actual exports of @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-primitives.
• Runtime environment: React and DSH host services are provided by the host; this package does not include a separate runtime.
