DeepSeek Harness (DSH) sessions follow a single-writer constraint: while the desktop holds a session write lock, writes from external processes are rejected. This plugin provides a collaboration channel for external drivers such as Codex through a locked-host proxy submission mechanism, enabling an end-to-end workflow for task dispatch, independent development, and returning results for review.
Core Features¶
The plugin itself does not handle code generation; it is only responsible for communication and synchronization. Main capabilities include:
- Workspace synchronization and file delivery: supports periodic automatic workspace synchronization, manual refresh, and a file drop-box feature that syncs externally registered workspaces to the desktop sidebar.
- Session message delivery: allows delivering tasks or review comments to the DSH session currently held by the desktop.
- Git status return: after a developer completes commits, pushes, and PRs, the plugin verifies Git status via
dsh2codexand returns the verification summary and PR information to the specified Codex conversation. - Zero runtime dependencies: the plugin uses only built-in Node.js modules and requires no additional npm packages.
Installation and Enablement¶
- Open Settings in DeepSeek Harness.
- Enter the Plugins menu.
- Click Add Plugin.
- Enter the repository address:
https://github.com/heswy/dsh-plugin-codex-bridge
After installation, ensure the plugin is enabled and keep the DSH desktop running.
Typical Usage¶
This plugin is used together with the codex2dsh skill on the Codex side and the dsh2codex skill on the DSH side, forming a complete collaboration loop.
Workflow:
1. Codex registers the workspace, creates a session, and delivers a task via codex2dsh.
2. DSH performs implementation and verification in the task workspace, and the plugin syncs externally registered workspaces to the desktop sidebar.
3. After the developer completes commits, pushes, and PRs, dsh2codex verifies the status and notifies the specified Codex conversation.
4. Codex delivers review comments in the original session, and DSH continues fixing and verification.
View session index:
Run the following command to view the session index and return CLI capabilities published by the host:
node tools/send.mjs --list
Check CLI capabilities:
Run the following command to preview or check the CLI capabilities on the Codex side:
python3 skills/dsh2codex/scripts/notify.py --probe
Notes¶
- Permissions and security: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It does not automatically commit, push, create PRs, merge, or publish; all Git operations must be explicitly authorized by the user.
- Collaboration mechanism: The DSH single-writer session constraint is implemented through locked-host proxy submission. If the
session/writer-heldstate is encountered, check ownership and acknowledgement. - Concurrency risks: Multiple hosts writing to
workspace.jsonsimultaneously may cause later writes to overwrite earlier ones. The plugin periodically performs reconciliation but does not provide cross-process transactions. - Platform compatibility: The plugin has not been verified on Windows. PR and Git URL validation support
github.com. - Synchronization method: The synchronization mechanism uses polling and manual refresh, and does not preempt the current turn.
Summary¶
This plugin provides a concrete development collaboration bridge between Codex and DeepSeek Harness, suitable for workflows where Codex is responsible for planning and review, while DSH is responsible for implementation. Full documentation and source code are available on GitHub.
