Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) extends its functionality through a plugin mechanism. In long conversations or code development scenarios, accurately quoting source text while preserving context is an essential requirement. The dsh-client-ui-quote plugin implements Kimi Code-style interaction: selecting text generates quote chips, with support for comments, adding to the conversation, or independent side conversations, addressing issues of scattered quotes and fragmented context.
Core Features¶
The plugin runs in the DSH client rendering process and provides the following capabilities:
- Quote generation and editing: Select text from the conversation body, file preview, or terminal to generate native quote chips. Quoted content in the comment box is editable (supports trimming).
- Three interaction modes:
- Comment: The quote and comment are combined into a single capsule, with an optional “Have the model respond to each item.”
- Add to Conversation: Insert directly into the input box.
- Side Conversation: Create an independent thread in the right sidebar, without polluting the main session, with support for “Return to Main Conversation.”
- Code quote support: Content selected from files or terminals is sent to the model as a code block, with the file path and line numbers included.
- Quick jump and revision: Hovering over a card provides the “Jump Back to Source” function; “Modify This Quote” is supported to generate a new revision capsule.
- Sidebar management: Provides a “Quote List” page, supporting search, Markdown export, and loading historical messages; the bottom displays side thread return actions.

Notes¶
- Runtime Environment: The plugin runs in the rendering process. The Headless profile has no UI, so this plugin cannot be used.
- Token Expiration: The granular token used by the npm package is expected to expire on 2027-01-09. Reconfiguration will be required after the expiration date.
- License: MIT license. It is recommended to check the source code before installing.
Ecosystem and Maintenance¶
This plugin is maintained by BangBang-03 and open-sourced on GitHub. DSH emphasizes “everything is a plugin.” This plugin is part of the client ecosystem and is not included in the DeepSeek official app store.
