dsh-work-badge: DeepSeek Harness Work Time Indicator

Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. dsh-work-badge is a lightweight plugin for web interfaces. It adds a small line of text in the upper-left corner of the DSH interface, below the top menu bar on desktop, and above the DeepSeek icon. This line of text displays in real time whether the current time is during “peak” or “off-peak” hours, helping users quickly identify whether they are in a busy work period.

Core Features

  1. Real-time period display: Determines and displays “peak” or “off-peak” status based on the current time.
  2. Based on Beijing Time: The time reference is fixed to Beijing Time (UTC+8), independent of the computer’s local time zone or daylight saving time.
  3. Display location: Fixed in the upper-left area, below the top menu bar and above the DeepSeek icon.
  4. Purely local execution: All calculations are completed locally. It does not use the network, does not report data, and does not read or write any files.
  5. Zero interference: It does not alter any other DSH behavior. The element is set to pointer-events: none, ensuring it never blocks clicks. The font size is only 10px, with rounded corners and a light background, so it does not distract the user.
  6. Multi-language support: The interface supports both Chinese and English, and follows the browser language by default.

Installation and Enabling

Run the following command in the terminal to install it:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:banana770/dsh-work-badge

After installation, restart DSH or press Ctrl+R in the interface to refresh. The small text showing the current time period will appear in the upper-left area.

Custom Configuration

The plugin source code includes a small number of adjustable configuration options. Modify the lib/client.js file to change them:

  • Change language: Change the const LANG at the top of the file to "zh" (force Chinese) or "en" (force English).
  • Adjust peak hours: Modify the minutes parameter inside the isPeakHour() function to redefine the calculation logic for peak hours.

Technical Dependencies and Environment

  • Applicability: Only applicable to the web profile in DSH.
  • Runtime environment: Requires Node.js >= 20 and depends on React (^18.2.0).
  • Build method: No build step is required; lib/client.js is loaded directly.
  • Permission scope: It does not access session content, model configuration, or API keys, and it contains no secrets.

Summary

By adding a purely visual line of text in the upper-left corner of the interface, this plugin enables DSH users to quickly confirm whether they are currently in a peak work period. Its purely local calculations ensure privacy and security while causing no interference with normal use.
