dsh-godot-workflow: A Local Plugin for Godot Project Development Workflow

Introduction

DSH’s AGENTS.md file is subject to a 65,536-byte budget. When the budget is exhausted, the broadest files are dropped first, which can silently invalidate workflow rules. The previous approach of writing workflows directly into AGENTS.md carried a risk of failure. dsh-godot-workflow persistently injects the Godot project development workflow through the host’s ctx.systemPrompt.section(), so it no longer consumes the byte budget of AGENTS.md.

What Is This

This is a local DSH plugin maintained by AtlacherCoder. It splits the Godot workflow that was originally placed in AGENTS.md into two parts: a persistent streamlined core and a full skill loaded on demand, ensuring the workflow remains available under tight budgets.

Core Features

  • Converts the Godot workflow in AGENTS.md into a local plugin.
  • Persistently injects the streamlined core without consuming the AGENTS.md byte budget.
  • Loads the godot-workflow skill on demand.
  • Includes five iron rules, a process skeleton, and crash-level hard constraints.
  • Includes full process details, a complete hard-constraint table, and four types of templates.

Installation and Activation

Install using the link: protocol. Source changes take effect immediately, but plugin content is read at activation time; after modifying .md files, you must restart dsh web to re-inject them.

dsh plugin --profile web add link:/home/atlaslinux/PluginManager/dsh-godot-workflow
dsh --profile web --dump-config | grep -A2 godot-workflow

Ordering and Usage

The sorting anchor for the persistent core is 510, placed after PLAN_POLICY(500) and before TEAM_POLICY(600); if no anchor can be obtained, it falls back to 550.

The two channels serve different scenarios:

  • Persistent section godot:workflow: corresponding to .dsh/prompt/core.md (~3 KB), which includes five iron rules, a process skeleton, and crash-level hard constraints. It is automatically loaded in every session.
  • Skill godot-workflow: corresponding to .dsh/skills/godot-workflow/SKILL.md (~9.7 KB), which includes full process details, a complete hard-constraint table, and four types of templates. The Agent loads it on demand through the skill tool.

Known Limitations

  • Exception handling: DSH launch is all-or-nothing; plugin exceptions do not raise errors but are only logged as error entries and trigger degradation.
  • Feature boundaries: does not handle decision-log synchronization, rollback artifacts, or gates; these are handled by each project’s tools/ scripts.
  • File updates: after modifying source with the link: protocol, you must restart dsh web to re-inject .md files.
  • Size: the persistent core is actually 3038 B, exceeding the design target of ~2 KB.

Self-Check

The plugin includes a self-check script to verify integrity during installation or development:

node scripts/verify.mjs
node scripts/verify.mjs --against ~/.dsh/AGENTS.md

Conclusion

By separating the persistent core from the full skill, the plugin ensures that the Godot workflow remains available when the AGENTS.md budget is insufficient. For more details, refer to the project homepage.
