Introduction¶
In agent development within the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) environment, multimodal interaction is a common requirement. When the runtime environment is WSL, obtaining images from the Windows side (such as clipboard screenshots) and passing them to an agent for parsing often requires additional file conversion steps. The dsh-wsl-shot plugin directly addresses this pain point. By using a tool call, it saves images from the Windows clipboard as WSL files, making it convenient for agents to read and process these images.
Purpose¶
dsh-wsl-shot is a DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by user 173787247. It is part of the dsh-wsl-kit suite, and its core role is to save Windows clipboard images as WSL files, enabling agents to attach images in multimodal conversations.
Core Features¶
This plugin provides the following capabilities:
1. Clipboard to file: Directly reads images from the Windows clipboard and saves them in a file format recognized by WSL.
2. Agent integration: Enables agents to attach images by calling the win_shot tool.
3. Tool name: The exposed tool name is win_shot.
Installation and Activation¶
To install the plugin, use DSH’s plugin management command. Make sure your DSH version is 0.1.2 or higher.
dsh plugin --profile web add github:173787247/dsh-wsl-shot
After installation, you must restart the dsh web service and open a new session for the plugin features to take effect.
Dependencies and Configuration¶
- DSH version: The plugin requires DSH version >= 0.1.2.
- Suite: It is part of the
dsh-wsl-kitsuite. During installation, you can chooseKIT_SET=daily,llm,github, orfull, or install this plugin standalone. - Model configuration: The plugin itself does not configure the Cloud Flash model ID. To use multimodal capabilities, manually set the model ID to
deepseek-flashin~/.dsh/settings.yamlor thellm-deepseekconfiguration. - Agent Teams: This is an upstream experimental feature and is not required here.
Typical Usage¶
After installation and service restart, during an agent conversation workflow, when image processing is needed, the agent invokes the win_shot tool. The tool saves the current image in the Windows clipboard to the WSL file system, after which the agent can read the file for visual analysis or content extraction.
Notes¶
The plugin runs in the permission context of the DSH process. Please review the source code and license before installation. It only provides file-saving functionality and does not include model inference or Agent Teams configuration.
Summary¶
dsh-wsl-shot is a tool for connecting the Windows clipboard to the WSL file system. For users who need to perform multimodal development or debugging with DSH on Windows, it provides the necessary file read/write capabilities.
