Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) embraces the “everything is a plugin” philosophy. When invoking a local Ollama instance through DSH in a WSL environment, network connectivity issues are common. The dsh-wsl-ollama plugin addresses this pain point by providing DSH with the ability to query local Ollama status, list models, hold conversations, and perform vectorization.
Plugin Purpose¶
The plugin is named dsh-wsl-ollama and is used to provide Ollama-related functionality to DeepSeek Harness on WSL. It is an optional plugin and is not part of the default install.sh process.
Installation¶
Install the plugin using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:173787247/dsh-wsl-ollama
After installation, restart the DSH process for the changes to take effect.
Core Capabilities¶
The plugin provides the following four main tools:
ollama_status: Checks base URL connectivity and the status of the default model.ollama_list: Lists the models that have been pulled locally.ollama_chat: Conducts conversations with a local model.ollama_embed: Generates vector data (suitable for scenarios such as vecmem).
Configuration and Usage¶
Before use, ensure that the Ollama service is running. The default base URL is http://127.0.0.1:11434.
Network Connectivity Issues¶
If Ollama is running on Windows while DSH is running in WSL, using localhost directly often results in a 503 error. There are two possible solutions:
- Configure Ollama to listen on
0.0.0.0:11434. - Set the environment variable
DSH_OLLAMA_BASE=http://<Windows-host-IP>:11434.
When baseUrl is empty, the plugin attempts to infer the host address from /etc/resolv.conf.
Configuration Options¶
The following parameters can be set in the configuration file:
config:
enabled: true
baseUrl: "" # 空值表示自动探测
defaultModel: "" # 或通过环境变量 DSH_OLLAMA_MODEL 指定
timeoutMs: 120000
maxPromptChars: 32000
Environment Variables¶
The supported environment variables include DSH_OLLAMA_BASE, OLLAMA_HOST, and DSH_OLLAMA_MODEL.
Compatibility and Notes¶
- Version Requirements: The plugin version is 0.2.0, and the DSH version must be ≥ 0.1.2.
- License: It is distributed under the MIT License.
- Ecosystem Background: The DSH community catalog is an independent site and has no official affiliation with DeepSeek / High-Flyer.
