Introduction¶
The console bundled with DSH Desktop listens to the local machine address by default, so phones cannot access it directly. The dsh-phone-remote plugin starts a lightweight web page on the computer that is intended for phone access, allowing you to control a running Agent from your phone, receive output in real time, and stop execution at any time.
Core Features¶
Based on the verified facts, this plugin mainly addresses the following needs:
* Session management: View the session list, select a session to continue chatting, and create a new session (optionally specifying a working directory).
* Command execution: Send commands that the Agent actually executes on the computer.
* File interaction: Send files to the Agent and download its output to the phone.
* Real-time feedback: View output in real time and stop execution at any time.
Installation¶
Installing this plugin requires the DSH Desktop environment. After installation, you must restart DSH Desktop for the changes to take effect.
Installation command¶
Install it using the official command-line tool:
dsh plugin --profile desktop add github:wlxyxykj/dsh-phone-remote
Verify the installation¶
After restarting DSH Desktop, you should be able to see dsh-phone-remote listed as enabled under Settings → Plugins. At the same time, a local console will start automatically on the computer.
Usage¶
Step 1: Open the console¶
Open the console address in a browser on the computer:
http://127.0.0.1:8790/
This page allows local access only and is used to display the QR code and access token.
Step 2: Connect from your phone by scanning the QR code¶
Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the computer, then use the camera to scan the QR code on the console page to go directly to the phone interface. The link already includes the access token, so no manual entry is required.
Step 3: Direct the Agent¶
Enter a command in the input area at the bottom of the phone page and click Send. The Agent executes the command on the computer, and the output is pushed to the phone in real time. The running button changes to ■, and clicking it stops the current turn.
Step 4: File transfer¶
- Send files to the Agent: Click 📎 at the bottom of the phone page to upload a file (maximum 25 MB per file). The file is written to the
.phone-uploads/folder under the current session working directory. - Download output to the phone: After the Agent finishes execution, a download card appears on the phone page. Click it to save the file to the phone.
Configuration and Security¶
Basic configuration¶
- Port: The default port is
8790. If the port is in use, the plugin automatically tries the next port (8791, etc.). The actual port is subject to the console/log output. - Default policy: The default
approvalPolicyfor remote sessions isnever, meaning commands are executed directly without additional authorization confirmation.
Security recommendations¶
- Transport method: Plain HTTP transport is currently used. For security, it is recommended to use an encrypted tunnel tool such as Tailscale when remote access is required.
- Access control: The plugin supports IP allowlist configuration. It is recommended to restrict the permitted IP ranges in the configuration.
Upgrade / Uninstall¶
- Upgrade: Use the same
dsh plugin addcommand to overwrite and install the new version. - Uninstall: Disable the plugin in DSH Settings, or remove it via the command line.
Summary¶
dsh-phone-remote is a practical utility that solves the limited mobile access problem of DSH Desktop. With simple installation and configuration, developers can take over a computer-based Agent from their phone at any time, interact through commands, and manage files.
