The plugin ecosystem in DeepSeek Harness (DSH) enables developers to extend functionality. In agent development scenarios, the model needs to invoke weather-query capabilities while the front-end interface needs intuitive presentation. The dsh-glass-weather plugin provides a solution: it places a 30px glassmorphism capsule in the conversation top bar and registers a get_weather tool at the system layer.
What Is This¶
This is a DSH native Cordis plugin, developed by maintainer w-j-y-wjy. It provides weather display and data retrieval capabilities through the native plugin mechanism, without relying on external bridging.
Core Features¶
- 30px glass capsule: Positioned in the top bar with a height of 30px. It includes 23 built-in weather states, each with a glass color palette, SVG graphics, and Canvas particles (such as rain, snow, stars, dust, and swirls). Hazardous weather displays a warning badge.
- Customizable display items: The icon, city, temperature, weather, today’s high/low, humidity, and time can each be toggled independently in settings.
- Theme adaptation: Supports two color schemes for light and dark modes. It automatically follows the DSH theme by default, or can be pinned manually.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the following command to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-glass-weather
Usage¶
- Capsule interaction: Click the capsule to refresh data, and hover over it to view full information.
- Settings entry: Go to
Settings -> Plugins -> "Weather". A live preview is available at the top, and below you can configure display content, appearance effects, data location, and advanced options. - Tool invocation: The model can now use the
get_weathertool to query real-time weather and short-term forecasts.
Data and Limitations¶
- Data sources: All key-free and account-free. Data comes from Open-Meteo (weather and air quality), BigDataCloud (reverse geocoding to retrieve city/county names), and ipapi (fallback). If any API fails, it falls back to WMO weather codes.
- Compatibility: Verified only on DSH Desktop / dsh web 0.2.0-rc.2 (native Cordis plugin, not a hook bridge).
- Notes: Host-side changes require restarting dsh; browser-side changes only will automatically hot-reload. Local toggles (display items, particles, color scheme, manual weather state) are stored in browser localStorage.
