Introduction¶
When working on complex mathematical proofs, it is usually necessary to develop candidate proofs, independently verify their correctness, and revise them repeatedly. The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin dsh-alphasolve introduces the AlphaSolve workflow to DSH sessions, aiming to automate this process.
Plugin Overview¶
- Plugin name:
dsh-alphasolve - Type: Workflow
- Maintainer: dxww123
- License: MIT
- Core value: Solve difficult mathematical problems, develop candidate proofs, independently check proofs, and revise proofs.
Installation and Enabling¶
Installing this plugin requires DeepSeek Harness Desktop 0.2.0-rc.2. Although the desktop app bundles Python, installing the plugin itself does not install SymPy; you need to complete a one-time Python/SymPy setup.
- Open the plugin manager.
- Select Add plugin.
- Enter
dsh-alphasolveand install it. - Complete the one-time setup described in the Python/SymPy setup documentation.
Note: If you have already installed the old @dsh-external/dsh-alphasolve package, replace it before installing the new version.
Typical Usage¶
- Create a folder and put the problem in a
problem.mdfile. You may addhint.mdto provide ideas or reference materials. - Open the folder as a workspace in DSH.
- Start the conversation in standard mode.
- Send the prompt:
> Use AlphaSolve to solve the problem in problem.md. - Click the AlphaSolve button at the top of the conversation to view progress and see the work records of each participant.
Notes¶
- Correctness assurance: Automatic checks do not guarantee that a proof is correct; please review the mathematical logic yourself.
- Cost and duration: The repeated checking process can be lengthy and may generate substantial model costs.
- Concurrency setting: The default is 2 parallel solving tasks.
- Version compatibility: The npm installation command is applicable to
dsh-alphasolve@0.4.0and DSH0.2.0-rc.2; the current source checkout targets DSH0.2.1-alpha.2.
Summary¶
dsh-alphasolve integrates the AlphaSolve workflow into DeepSeek Harness, providing a structured tool for handling difficult mathematical problems.
