dsh-djy-xttsc: Global System Prompt Injection Plugin

Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem supports injecting custom system instructions into model requests. When consistent instruction behavior is required across sessions, workflows, or derived sub-agents, hard-coding or manually modifying configurations can be cumbersome. The dsh-djy-xttsc plugin injects user-editable text snippets as a global system prompt into all model requests.

Core Features

  • Settings integration: Registers a section named “Big Fat Fish Instructions” in the DSH settings panel, providing a visual configuration interface.
  • Hot updates and persistence: Supports modifying and saving the text at any time in the settings page; content is persisted. In supported versions, changes take effect without a restart.
  • Global scope: The injected prompt snippet applies to all workflows, including sub-agents derived within workflows.
  • Injection order: Order is set to order = -900, immediately after the system identity segment (order = -1000) and before the tool instructions.

Installation

Install via command line. The plugin automatically declares dsh.bundle.patch; during installation it is treated as a bundle and writes its configuration to the profile’s cordis.patch.yml.

dsh plugin add "<PATH>"

Usage Steps

  1. Open the DSH settings panel (gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar).
  2. In the left navigation bar, click “Big Fat Fish Instructions”.
  3. Check or uncheck the “Enabled” checkbox to immediately control injection behavior.
  4. Modify the content in the text box and click “Save”.
  5. Click “Restore Defaults” to reset to the factory configuration (default content is “You are a big fat fish, and you must act cute after every reply to the user”).

Notes

  • Content injected as-is: The plugin does not parse, append, or rewrite the injected content; it merely sends it as a system prompt paragraph to the model.
  • Avoid conflicts: Only one injection source should remain in the same environment. If AGENTS.md or another injection source (such as ~/.dsh/AGENTS.md) is used at the same time, instruction conflicts may occur, and changes in the settings page may not take effect.
  • Version compatibility: Supports DSH versions 0.1.5 through 0.2.x.
  • Hot-update dependency: If the configuration field does not support volatile, changes may require restarting the application to take effect.

Diagnostics (Optional)

If you encounter the situation where “changes saved in the settings page do not take effect,” you can enable diagnostic mode. Set DJY_XTTSC_DIAG=on in environment variables and restart DSH. The plugin appends the shape of each configuration source read and the rendered text to ~/.dsh/djy-xttsc-diag.jsonl for troubleshooting.
