Introduction¶
The session menu in the Web sidebar of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) currently offers only rename, fork, and archive options. Archiving a session only hides it and does not delete the data; completely deleting a session usually requires navigating to “Session Archive Management” deep within settings, which is cumbersome. The dsh-delete-session plugin places the delete function directly in the ... menu of a session row in the sidebar, addressing the need for thorough cleanup in a commonly used location.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-delete-session is a DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by developer DDDMUC. It is designed to fill the gap in Web sidebar session management, allowing users to quickly and permanently remove session data. The plugin is released under the MIT License.
Core Features¶
- Direct deletion from the menu: Adds a “Delete Session” option to the
...menu of a session row in the sidebar. - Risk confirmation: On the first deletion, a risk confirmation dialog appears, displaying the session title and ID; deletion is executed after confirmation.
- Multi-select batch deletion: Supports entering multi-select mode, checking multiple sessions, and clicking “Delete” at the bottom to perform a batch operation.
- Thorough cleanup: Permanently deletes session logs, workspace accounting, and host in-memory state.
- Automatic switching: After deleting the currently open session, automatically switches to a new session to avoid landing on an unavailable page.
- Bilingual support (Chinese and English): The interface follows the DSH language setting (Chinese/English).
- Zero dependencies: Does not introduce the DSH SDK, does not depend on specific SDK exports, and only obtains required services through the cordis context.
Installation and Enabling¶
Run the following command in a terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-delete-session
After installation is complete, restart dsh web to apply the changes.
Usage¶
Delete a single session¶
- Hover over a session row in the sidebar and click
...(session actions). - Select “Delete Session” at the bottom.
- On the first deletion, check “I understand. This will permanently delete the session.” If you want to skip the confirmation next time, you can also check “Do not ask again; delete directly from now on.”
Delete multiple sessions¶
- Click “Multi-select” in the sidebar session menu.
- Check the sessions you want to delete in the list (clicking the entire row selects it instead of opening the session).
- The bottom action bar displays “N selected / Cancel / Delete”; click “Delete” to execute immediately.
Notes¶
- Session occupancy: If the session being deleted is currently opened and held by DSH, the plugin automatically waits for the write ownership to be released before deleting.
- Irreversible: Deletion is irreversible; there is no recycle bin or undo feature.
- Compatibility: The plugin is compatible with DSH versions 0.1.5-rc.1 and 0.1.7-alpha.2.
- DOM dependency: The plugin depends on the actual DOM structure. If DSH’s menu structure undergoes a significant change, the plugin may need to be updated to maintain compatibility.
Ecosystem Background¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” The community-maintained plugin directory is an independent website and has no official affiliation with DeepSeek or High-Flyer Quantum. As part of the community ecosystem, this plugin aims to improve the DSH user experience through standardized interfaces and convenient management.
