Introduction¶

In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) workflow, agents usually run silently in the terminal or in the background, lacking a persistent and intuitive interaction medium. To enhance users’ perception of the agent’s presence, the desktop pet plugin was created.

What Is This¶

DeepSeek Harness 3D Pigfish (Whale) Desktop Pet Plugin is a 3D desktop pet component designed for the DSH environment.

Developed by maintainer rongzi5, the plugin is intended to provide a visual interaction window for agent sessions. It is not just a static model; it also integrates LLM chat, memory management, session progress queries, and subagent task scheduling, addressing the lack of context continuity and visual feedback in terminal-only interaction.

Core Features¶

1. 3D Rendering and Behavior
   Uses three@0.147.0 to programmatically render a whale model, without relying on external CDNs or iframes. The pet rests at the edge of the viewport and patrols at random long intervals. It has shape-aware dragging, supports inertial release, and follows the mouse pointer.

2. Interaction and Control
   - Click Recap: Clicking the body cycles through displaying the name, days together, and recent conversation events.
   - Right-click menu: Provides chat (LLM), memory management, renaming, resizing, corner snapping, and more.
   - Corner snapping and shortcut: Once enabled, releasing the pet after dragging automatically snaps it to the nearest corner. Use the Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + W shortcut to hide or show the pet at any time.
   - Drag dizziness: Fast or prolonged dragging makes the pet dizzy (roll onto its back), pausing interactions.

3. Intelligent Integration
   - LLM chat and memory: Chat via the right-click menu item “Chat with the Whale…”. Memories are stored in localStorage. Chat bubbles have a 60-character limit, but lines marked with [记住] are exempt.
   - Session progress query: When asked “How is the progress?”, the pet proactively probes and reports the current session status.
   - Subagent task scheduling: When code execution or command running is required, the pet triggers real subagent tasks.

Installation and Enabling¶

No specific installation command is provided at present. This plugin needs to be used together with the DeepSeek Harness 3D Pigfish (Whale) environment.

Typical Usage¶

1. Start a conversation
   Right-click the pet and choose “Chat with the Whale…”. Send a message in the pop-up input box (Enter to send, Esc to close). The pet replies with a chat bubble and supports SSE streaming output.

2. Manage memory
   Right-click “What does the Whale remember…” to view or delete persistent memories, or directly enter [记住] <事实> to add a new memory.

3. View status
   Click the pet’s body to view its name, days together, and recent conversation events (such as tool execution results and milestones).

4. Resize and hide
   Use the slider in the right-click menu to adjust the size (50%-150%), or use the shortcut Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + W to hide it quickly.

Use Cases and Notes¶

• Use cases: Developers who need long-term tracking of user context, want to enhance agent presence through visual feedback, or need pet-agent assistance for background tasks.
• Notes:
• Resizing only changes rendering scale and does not affect the pet’s resting position at the edge or its patrol path.
• Chat bubbles have a 60-character limit, but lines marked with [记住] are exempt.
• Memory and state are persisted via localStorage (note compatibility in private browsing mode).
• Ensure the DeepSeek Harness 3D environment is running normally.
