Introduction¶
The core concept of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” CuiGengJi (dsh-cuigengji-plugin) is a plugin adapted to the DSH ecosystem and maintained by developer mistnest. It aims to address common pain points in long-form creation: AI can often write paragraphs, but struggles to carry the settings and arc of an entire book. CuiGengJi provides a structured workbench that brings body text, settings, and planning into the same management environment, helping authors and AI maintain consistency in the work.
What It Is¶
This is a novel-writing workbench for users. The plugin supports writing body text, organizing settings, designing plot, and collaborating with AI to discuss, continue, and revise writing. By making “below-the-surface” materials such as character motivations, world rules, and plot arrangements explicit, it allows AI to create based on a complete work profile.
Core Features¶
The plugin mainly includes the following five capabilities:
- Continue writing the body text: Supports organizing the work by volumes and chapters, with word counts displayed directly in the table of contents. Provides body-text editing, autosave, one-click formatting, and supports viewing and restoring historical versions.
- Refine the next chapter together: Uses nodes, connectors, and annotations to organize the plot. Each planning node includes a title, summary, and free-form text, supports dragging cards to adjust positions, and retains open issues.
- Organize characters and world: Provides character cards, a world book, and a relationship graph, with support for grouping, searching, and importing existing materials.
- Keep writing requirements with the work: Writing requirements such as style and point of view can be placed in presets and, once enabled, provided to AI sessions bound to that work.
- Take the work with you: Body text, version history, settings, planning, and presets are all stored in a separate novel-work data directory, supporting import, export, and backup.
Installation and Enablement¶
The plugin currently mainly supports the DSH Windows desktop version, with the verified host version being 0.2.0-rc.2. Regular users do not need to install Git, Node.js, or compile source code.
Installation steps:
- Find the “Add plugin” option in DSH.
- Choose to install a “prebuilt package.”

After installation, enter CuiGengJi from the left sidebar in DSH. Create or select a work, then write and discuss in the session bound to that work.
Typical Usage¶
- Workbench operations: In the CuiGengJi interface, use the table of contents to view chapter word counts, and collapse it to focus on the body text.
- Plot planning: In the planning canvas, drag planning node cards to arrange positions, connect plot through connection points, and use text annotations to record open issues.
- Settings management: Use grouping and search in character cards and the world book to quickly locate materials, or use the relationship graph to view associations between characters and locations.
- Preset application: Organize writing requirements such as style and point of view into presets, enable them, and provide them to AI sessions bound to the work so AI output aligns with the work’s requirements.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for creators who need to systematically manage the structure, character settings, and plot planning of long novels.
Notes:
* The plugin itself does not embed multiple independent editing Agents.
* The public repository only provides plugin source code, usage documentation, and test samples, and does not include the author’s novels, private settings, chat histories, or work-data backups.
* Novel content and user-imported materials belong to their respective authors and are not constrained by the plugin’s source license.
