DSH Task Board: Session Task Board and Parent-Child Task Tree Plugin

In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) conversation view, Trajectory typically records the thinking process. Adding a visual task-management layer on top of this can clarify goal decomposition and acceptance criteria more effectively. The dsh-task-board plugin provides such a “task board” view, supporting canvas-based drag-and-drop layout and local JSON storage.

Plugin Positioning¶

It is a plugin designed for the DSH client; the original project is CodexFF. It adds a Task Board tab to the session, including a canvas-based board, a parent-child task-tree model, and Agent tools and skills. It is maintained by developer etony668 and is licensed under MIT.

Core Capabilities¶

• New Tab in Session View: Adds the Chat → Trajectory → Task Board tab in the conversation view.
• Canvas-Based Board: Each main task corresponds to a subpanel, supporting drag-to-align (25px spacing, auto-centering), collapsible panels, and color marking for temporary tasks.
• Parent-Child Task-Tree Model: Supports defining goals, scope, and acceptance boundaries. Task statuses automatically transition: when all subtasks are completed, the parent task is automatically closed; otherwise, it is reopened.
• Agent Tools and Skills: Provides the board_get, board_revision, board_sync, task_create, task_update, and task_delete tools, plus the automatically loaded dsh-task-board skill.
• Local Storage and Backup: Uses local JSON storage. Every change is automatically snapshotted to a backup directory, with global mirroring supported.

Installation and Enablement¶

Install via command line (recommended):

dsh plugin --profile web add @etony668/dsh-task-board

After installation, refresh or restart DSH, and you will see the Task Board tab after Trajectory in the session view.

Usage¶

• Switch View: Click Task Board in the top tabs of the session to enter it.
• Navigation: There is no back button within the board; use the top Chat tab or the keyboard Tab / Esc to return.
• Input Box: In the task board view, the bottom message input box is hidden by default to avoid overlap.
• Agent Interaction: After a task change, the Agent appends a “View Task Board” link; clicking it can jump directly to the board.

Notes¶

• Installation and Updates: It must be installed through the plugin manager (the Plugins panel or dsh plugin add). Do not manually edit package.json, as this may cause update conflicts.
• Data Storage: Data files are located at <project>/.dsh-taskboard/board.json and ~/.dsh/taskboards/.
• Backup Mechanism: Every change is automatically snapshotted to the backup directory (keeping the latest 10); it can be safely committed to version control.
• Permission Issues: If the project directory is read-only, the plugin falls back to using only the global mirror.
