Introduction¶

In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem, plugins are the primary way to extend functionality. Developers often need to manage Git repositories directly in agent development environments. dsh-plugin-git aims to provide a portable Git operations service and client interface, making Git integration more standardized.

Plugin Positioning¶

This is a standard DSH/Cordis Git plugin maintained by cherrchen. It includes a portable Host service and a Client component package, supporting DeepSeek Harness Desktop and standard DSH Web profile configurations.

Core Features¶

1. Standard plugin architecture: Follows the DSH/Cordis plugin specification and consists of a Host service and a Client package.
2. Sidebar integration: Registers three sidebar tab types through standard paths: git.changes, git.graph, and git.diff.
3. Multi-environment support: Can run in DeepSeek Harness Desktop as well as in standard DSH Web profile configurations.

Installation and Enablement¶

DSH Web: Install it using the officially recommended shortest path.

dsh plugin --profile web add @dsh-electron/dsh-plugin-git

DSH Desktop: This plugin is preinstalled and enabled by default. If it is not needed, you can disable it in the Desktop plugin settings.

Notes¶

1. Upstream dependency: Plugin loading depends on the ctx.sidebarRight service provided upstream. Without this service, the plugin cannot load properly.
2. Experimental development: The current version is in an experimental development stage (pre-1.0). APIs and version numbers may change in future updates.
3. Publisher identity: The npm scope @dsh-electron/ is used to identify the publisher, not as a runtime dependency.
4. Plugin deprecation: The third-party Details Host plugin has been deprecated and is no longer depended on by this plugin.
