Preface¶
When you start multiple DSH instances simultaneously and need to check the progress of conversations in each one, opening pages individually can be scattered. dsh-multi-chat integrates this into the official DSH Web interface: transforming the chat area into a multi-window wall, displaying multiple instances side by side.
What Is This¶
dsh-multi-chat is a DSH client plugin maintained by daetz-coder, licensed under MIT.
It targets the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web interface and provides a multi-window grid view for running and monitoring multiple conversation instances side by side, as well as viewing progress from a phone or tablet on the same local network.

Core Features¶
The core features are listed below:
- Enter the multi-window view with one click from the sidebar; the chat area becomes a window grid, displaying multiple DSH instances side by side.
- Scan port ranges to automatically discover running DSH instances; manual management is also supported.
- Start new DSH instances with one click from within the wall.
- Click “Phone access” to start a built-in LAN gateway with token authentication.
- Window controls: maximize, refresh, open in a new tab, stop instances, and switch column counts (
auto/1/2/3/4/6).
Installation and Enablement¶
Install into the web profile using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-multi-chat
The plugin’s package.json has dsh.marketplace.requiresRestart set to true, so a restart of the DSH Web session is required after installation.
Typical Usage¶
- Start multiple instances:
npx dsh-multi-chat start --ports 3080,3081,3082
-
Open any DSH instance, and click “Multi-window” at the bottom of the sidebar to enter the multi-window wall.
-
Within the wall, switch column counts, refresh, maximize, or stop the corresponding instance. You can also start a new DSH instance from within the wall.
-
When viewing from a phone or tablet, click “Phone access” to obtain the LAN URL and token, then access that URL and enter the token on a device within the same local network.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
Suitable for:
- Running multiple DSH instances or Agent tasks simultaneously and needing to view multiple conversation states on one screen.
- Viewing DSH progress from a phone or tablet on the same local network.
- It does not replace the existing DSH Web interface; it only adds a multi-window view to the existing interface.
Notes:
- The plugin only registers new slot components and several JSON routes; it does not replace existing slots or rewrite core session, agent, or tool logic.
- The official
dsh webintentionally disallows--host 0.0.0.0; the plugin uses a built-in token-authenticated LAN gateway for reverse proxying. - The plugin loads with the DSH Web client and runs with the permissions available to the current
dshprocess. It is recommended to review the source code, dependencies, and license before installation.
Conclusion¶
dsh-multi-chat brings multiple DSH instances onto one screen, making it convenient to continuously monitor the status of multiple conversation instances.
